Sappho Women Awarded Grant for “EmpowerHER” Project!
Empowering Women, Building a Stronger Community
Sappho Women is thrilled to announce an innovative project, “EmpowerHER,” that aims to empower women within the global LBTIQ community, with a particular focus on Lesvos, Greece.
“EmpowerHER” seeks to create a supportive environment fostering personal and professional growth through meaningful connections, skill-building workshops, and active community engagement.
Investing in the Future
We are extremely grateful that our project will be funded through a grant from EL*C (EuroCentralAsian Lesbian* Community), and is co-funded by the European Union (*).
This critical investment will allow Sappho Women to:
- Enhance Staff Training and Capabilities: A skilled and empowered team is the foundation for success. “EmpowerHER” will provide comprehensive training for our team members in areas such as event planning, project management, and public speaking.
- Deliver Capacity-Building Workshops: The project will feature the “EmpowerHER Workshop Series” that cover topics such as financial literacy, leadership, effective communication, and entrepreneurship. These workshops aim to equip women with the necessary tools for success in their personal and professional lives.
- Networking and Alliance-Building Event: The project will host a Networking and Alliance-Building Event aimed at fostering collaboration and information exchange with NGOs, businesses, and government agencies committed to women’s empowerment.
- Launch a Public Awareness Campaign: “EmpowerHER” understands the importance of raising awareness. A targeted media campaign will share success stories, press releases, and event highlights to boost public engagement and support.
Building a Brighter Future, Together
This project is more than just workshops and events. Our vision is to create a lasting impact:
- Enhanced Organisational Capabilities and Empowered Women: A skilled and empowered Sappho Women team alongside a community of women equipped with the tools to become leaders.
- Network Building and Advocacy: A more connected and supportive environment, fostering the organisation’s growth and societal acceptance for the LBTIQ community.
- Financial Sustainability and Long-Term Resilience: Increased visibility and capabilities will attract sustained funding, promoting financial stability and creating more employment opportunities within the community.
- Enduring Impact: A lasting legacy of a capable, visible, financially secure organisation alongside a thriving, empowered LBTIQ community. This will ensure the long-term success of Sappho Women and its mission.
