Update Regarding Boat Trips in 2023
Dear Sappho Women community,
We regret to inform you that we won’t be able to offer boat trips at this year’s International Eressos Women’s Festival. Our efforts to restore the jetty have unfortunately fallen short, preventing us from operating boat trips from Skala Eressos. While the popular women-only sunset cruise sadly won’t be available this time, we’re currently working on alternative excursions for you to enjoy.
One such trip will take you to Sigri, home to the Petrified Forest Museum. This outing includes a visit to the museum, as well as a journey on a glass-bottom boat to Nissiopi island, where you’ll witness petrified tree trunks dating back over 15 million years. The Sigri area and Nissiopi island carry the remnants of Lesvos island’s violent geological history, offering a unique glimpse into the past.
Another trip we’re excited to offer will lead you to the thermal springs of Polichnitos. This particular hot spring is the hottest in Europe, and it has very recently undergone full restoration. We’re delighted to inform you that in September we will book the hot spring exclusively for at least one or two of our group visits. The experience of stepping into a natural hot spring is unmatched, offering revitalisation and wellness benefits.
Stay tuned for additional details about the Sigri and Polichnitos trips, which will be added to the program very soon.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. We look forward to creating memorable experiences for you at the 2023 International Eressos Women’s Festival!
Warm regards,
Sappho Women
