Have you been longing for a women-led community centre in Skala Eressos? A place that brings locals and visitors together? Then join us for a meet and greet to find out more.
While you’re with us, why not stay a litter longer to listen to Pinar Yüksel perform. Pinar travels through villages in Anatolia collecting traditional songs from different cultures (Laz, Dengbej, Alevi, Gypsy, Nomad), combining these songs with the poems of Sappho.

We are a team of people setting up a community centre for women and gender diverse people.
The Sappho Community Centre’s mission is to
– celebrate the history of women and Sapphic communities in Eressos
– encourage learning and cultural exchange between locals and visitors
– address issues facing women and the gender diverse community
– support refugees who seek to set up their home in Eressos
– protect the region’s unique biodiversity
– keep Eressos accessible for local people
– spread joy and community belonging
